about

Nora passed away in November 2020 after a 6+ years of living with cancer.

These recordings were taken from a vast cache of voice memos, iPhone videos, and live recordings with an audience.

Since Nora passed, the Nora Candey Songwriting Grant was established with the help of the Oregon Bluegrass Association. The OBA is a volunteer-run, 501(c) (3), non-profit that has been around since 1982. The purpose of the grant is to help others further their pursuit of writing original music, and to give back to a community that meant so much to her. All proceeds from her recordings will go the grant fund.
